The George Washington Leadership Tour is the gamechanger that you have been looking for.

This Nine-Day Experience is for those who want to create dramatic change in their company’s outlook and overall performance. By combining lectures, discussions and exercises with visits to the most impactful places of George Washington’s life, your employees will be learning success and leadership concepts in dramatic fashion. Together we will look at the critical factors that are holding your business back and you will learn how to turn roadblocks into opportunities, the way Washington did.

The story of George Washington is, in many ways, the story of the birth of our country.  Follow the steps George Washington took to bring us independence and then our Constitutional government.   We will meet Washington the man;  Washington the soldier; Washington the Constitutionalist; and finally, Washington the President.  Get to know this fascinating and illusive Founder like you have never known him before as he leads the country through our perilous but dramatic beginnings.

Washington faced many of the challenges that you and your business face today. While it is imperative that your company keeps up with this rapidly changing world, it is also necessary that you and your employees become familiar with success and leadership concepts that have worked throughout time. By using George Washington’s life your organization will learn the strategies to face incredible odds and always come out on top.

Each day will not only involve a visit to a historical place, but also lectures, exercises, and teambuilding workshops. This is truly a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

George Washington is known as the “Indispensable Man” because he, more than any other person, brought about American Independence and then the American Government.  You will walk the grounds where Washington was born.  For those of you who like to study military campaigns and strategy, we delve into the key battles that George Washington fought, and discuss his battle tactics as well as his psychological maneuvers. (We also discuss how these tactics are applicable to your specific organizational situation.) We will enter Independence Hall and walk the floors that Washington walked as he discussed our new Constitution, as well as see the original chair on which he oversaw the Constitutional Convention.  We will visit the site of the house where Washington lived as President as well as the very room where he handed over his Presidency to John Adams, thus instituting a precedent that has now been written into the Constitution. You will drink in the taverns in which he drank and walk in the rooms of Mount Vernon that he loved most.  We will explore Washington’s religion (and see the actual church and pew where he sat), his relationship with his wife, Martha, as well as his forbidden love for his friend’s wife, Sally Fairfax.  We will also explore Washington’s changing views on slavery, and see and discuss the homes and lives of several of his slaves.  You will see the spot where he was born, the tomb in which he now lies, and everything in between.

We will talk to you about your business and your situation prior to the tour so that it is specifically designed for your situation and goals!

Join us on our tour and increase your business’ productivity immediately!

HIGHLIGHTS

*The Man – This tour will explore the different parts of Virginia that formed George Washington, starting with his birthplace and ending where he died.  In Mount Vernon you will be able to see not only the house Washington loved, but the award-winning movie about Washington at the incredible Education Center, as well as his Presidential Library, which is the best repository of Washington’s letters and memorabilia in the world. Washington was not born into a rich family, and he was unable to afford going to college. But he made specific goals and found ways to reach them, sometimes slowly, other times more quickly.

*The Soldier – This tour is a study of the specific military campaigns planned and conducted by Washington, including the Battles of Trenton, Princeton, Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth, and Yorktown.  See how Washington used military strategy as well as psychological strategy to embolden his army and defeat the enemy. Washington’s greatest achievement as general was not in any of the battles he won, but was the way in which he kept his army together by presenting them with a shared vision. What Washington did with his organization, you and your leaders can do with yours.

*The Politician – See where George Washington attended the First Continental Congress, as a virtual unknown Virginia planter and the 2nd Continental Congress, where he was chosen to lead the army in support of American liberties.  See also the actual room where he stood and the chair where he sat as he watched over the Constitutional Convention as the Presiding Officer.  You will also see where he lived during his Presidency, and will visit the room where he renounced his presidential office in order to return to his “vine and fig tree” at Mount Vernon.

*The President – George Washington was the only president to have no example to follow. With a constitution that only described the office in the vaguest of terms, it was George Washington who had to invent it by his actions at a time when, due to the French Revolution and the fights between the pro-French Jeffersonians and the pro-British Hamiltonians, the future of the new country was in grave peril.

Day 3Washington’s Crossing, Battle of Trenton.

In the winter of 1776, the fate of Washington and his army looked bleak.  Washington’s army had suffered defeat after defeat, and looked forward to December 31st as the day they could leave the army and go home.  With his back against the wall, Washington took a wild gamble that transformed not only the war, but how Americans would perceive him from that day onward.

Group Dinner at Washington’s Crossing Tavern.

Evening Discussion.

Day 4 Brandywine Battlefield

England has left New York City in order to invade Philadelphia.  Washington’s only hope at stopping them lies in the battle of Brandywine.  Defeated by an army with larger numbers, Washington takes them on again at Germantown to show that, while the Americans may be beaten and injured, they had not given up!

Dinner on your own in Philadelphia!

Evening Discussion

Day 5 – Valley Forge

Valley Forge is the spot where Washington turns his group of tired and sickly rabble into an army.  Hear the stories of the Baron who was not really a baron, but who was able to install pride and discipline into the men anyway.  Facing criticism and several internal adversaries vying for his job, Washington outmaneuvers them politically, and then, on the battlefield of Monmouth, has what one historian called “one of his finest hours.” We will also receive a personalized tour of the George Washington Chapel.

Group Dinner at Black Powder Tavern!

Evening Discussion
